PRECIOUS QUOTE

Just think, your baby boy is here not by chance, but by God's choosing. God has allowed him to be here at this time in history to fulfill His special purpose for this generation.

by Roy Lessin

This quote was actually on a gift bag given to us by a dear friend. I think it states what we feel about Miles. God needed him to come into the world the day he did for a purpose!

Miles is doing very well. For the last four days we have added some oral feedings and he is doing as well as anyone expected him to. He is more alert when we go visit, and is able to be dressed now, too. We are all hoping to have him home in a couple of weeks.

FIRST TIME TO SEE BABY BROTHER

Our dear friends Glen and Lisa met us at the hospital so Hattie and Spencer could see their little brother for the first time. Lisa took pictures while Glen got a work-out lifting the kids to see through the tiny window. The kids both loved looking at Miles. Hattie kept repeating "Can I pet him?".
The day the kids got to see Miles had already had his nasal cannula removed. By the grace of God his lungs were in great shape. In fact, by the time the doctor and nurses got Miles to the NICU he was ready to come off the ventilator. Later, he had to have the cannula put back in, but only on flow. This was for apnea episodes, not lung function.

We were all glad Dr./Uncle Glen had the ability to write himself a script for pain reliever, if needed the next day. He held Hattie and Spencer while Aunt Lisa got to come inside to take some more pictures.

MILES BIRTHDAY

Miles was born in late January ten weeks early. Todd was in Dallas and Andria delivered with the help of two dear friends Pamela and Lisa (photo below). What a blessing he has been to us, and the wonderful nurses who continue to take excellent care of him. The nurses all say that he is a very good baby.

This is Miles immediately after they intubated him at the hospital. He is ready for transport to the local NICU. It was a sad sight for all of us, but we knew God brought him early and had a plan for him to fully recover and be who God made him to be.

The first available flight for Todd to leave Dallas was 7:00am right around the time Miles came into the world. He arrived at the hospital around 9:30 am. He had missed the entire labor and delivery, but we both had so much peace about the whole thing. Todd, miraculously, was even able to sleep a few hours the night before in his hotel, knowing God had his family in His hands.
